A few weekends ago we spent the day cycling in West Langley, in support of Foundation Fighting Blindness’s Cycle for Sight event. This charity is truly important to me because it hits close to home. My beautiful niece Ava is legally blind.
At only 8 years old, she has been a huge inspiration to our family. She has accomplished so much and has never let her sight stop her from her ambitions, her dreams, and all of her many achievements.
A group of us came together to form ‘Ava’s All-stars’ and we raised around $20,000 in support of Foundation Fighting Blindness. One day of hard work, pushing through, completing a 66km cycling route and good teamwork was absolutely worth it support such a great cause that works tirelessly to raise money or vision research.
This amazing foundation has granted over $25 million to Canadian researchers at hospitals and universities across the country in the search for the causes, treatments and cures for retinal diseases that affect over one million Canadians living with vision loss.
Support this amazing cause or find something you are passionate about and contribute today. It was great to spend time with friends and family while supporting a worth while cause and the life long benefits that these charities provide opportunity for is something we need more of in our world.
